I do not know if there is any variation but mine is a plain adaptor without 
any switch. No cause of concern IMO.

I have never seen this model so I do not know. But based on the only Metz 
brochure that I have, 35 means GN is 35 for ISO 100 film. If your flash does 
not have a zoom head, the answer would be 35. To verify, just fire the flash 
at full power at a known distance and measure the reading using a handheld 
meter (no reflected meter), and then calculate the GN (GN = distance x 
aperture). You might do this little test at your local retailer if you don't 
have a handheld meter.
