One just has to remember the old saw, "I was looking for a job when I came here". There is always another job down the road somewhere. Only in the 50's and 60's did there seem to be such a thing as a permanent job for most people, so where ever you are working, remember you are just visiting. The most successful people I have known were always networking, looking for that next job. They never got laid off, as they always had moved on and up before that happened. Or work in construction for a while, where finding another job is just part of the job description.
