I can't say for sure if the DA 14/2.8 is sharper than the DA 12-24, although I expect it would be, at least at f4. However, based on images I've seen, I think the DA 12-24 is better corrected. It seems to have a bit less barrel distortion. But again, that's based on inconclusive evidence. To my knowledge, no one on the list has done an actual comparison.
