Hi Ann:
I can help with these:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
Click "Tools/Folder Options"
Click on the "View" tab
Under "Advanced settings", uncheck the option "Hide extensions for
known file types".
Click on the "Apply to all folders" button.
2 and 3. In reverse order, because you may need to restart the computer
after changing the DPI
Right-click the desktop
Click "Properties"
Click the "Desktop" tab.
Click "Browse" and select the image you want as the background.
Click the "Settings" tab.
Click "Advanced"
Change the DPI to 120dpi, and apply.
