I haven't used the WinDoze version yet but it sounds quite capable
compared the the very basic ufraw.

CinePaint is another editor worth investigating for Linux.
I haven't quite come to terms with it yet but at least it's 16 bit,
unlike the Gimp which is only an 8 bit workflow most of the way.
