I've often thought about just that idea myself, and have wondered how
difficult it would be to put a cheapass digicam (minus lens) on the back of
an Auto110 body.

Alas, even though I have both a cheapass digicam that I could take apart
(Pentax Optio s4 with a busted LCD screen), and a couple spare Auto110s, I
lack the technical knowledge and skills to find out.

Regardless, a digital 110 would be incredibly cool, and I think Pentax might
actually do well if they re-introduced the world's smallest SLR as the
world's smallest dSLR. Just from dealing with customers at work, I could
sell dozens of them myself. Lots of people come in wanting the flexibility
of a dSLR, but the size of a pocket camera. You wouldn't believe how many
people want to be able to fit a full-sized SLR into a purse, or get a case
for their SLR that provides next to no protection just because they want to
keep the camera outfit's size as small as possible. A tiny dSLR would fill
a niche that I think a lot of people would be very interested in.

Then again, I love little cameras and tend to get a little overly excited
about them. Ah well, a guy can dream...

P.S.: I wonder if the technology is available these days to make autofocus
lenses for something the size of an Auto110D?
