It's easy enough when using a true Zoom or Fixed Focal length lens,
(though stop down metering gives bogus results long before I'm
uncomfortable shooting hand held at high ISOs). It is truly a PITA when
I'm shooting under varying lighting with the Vivitar S1 35-85mm
varifocal. Just one more thing to keep track of when adjusting framing,
image magnification, and focus, none of which are particularly difficult
when I'm using it on an LX or ZX5n in Av, (the MX was a bit more
difficult, but still one step less using the D/Ds). I'd just let the
camera handle exposure, I could trust it. On the D and Ds I'm always
getting a bad exposure or three because the lighting changed and I
forgot to hit the "green button". Of course under really dim lighting
conditions I just set the camera on Av and shoot wide open anyway.
That's just the worst case, if it worked properly with K lenses it would
work properly with the VS1.

Things should be made as simple as possible -- but no simpler.
