They work exactly the same way they work on the *ist DS/DL/DS2/DL2. 00: set custom setting to "Use Aperture Ring Permitted" once and leave it that way. when preparing to take a picture with a K/M lens: 01: set exposure mode to Manual. 02: set desired aperture with lens ring. 03: activate meter with half press of shutter button. 04: focus on subject to meter. 05: press AE-Lock button. Shutter speed is set to the required time. 06: adjust aperture/exposure time further to taste. 07: make exposure. You can also use K/M lenses in Aperture priority AE mode, but all exposures will be made at wide open aperture; only the shutter speed will be varied to meet the metering evaluation.
