I used to carry the 20-70/4 but I felt the 70mm end
too short. So I bought the newest 28-105 (3.2-4.5)
since it was almost equal in size and weight than the
28-70 and had good reviews.

My experience with this lens has been very positive.
It is a great compromise between image quality and
zoom range...at least in 35mm. The perfect travel
lens. With the 1.5x crop factor, the lens becomes a
42-157, which isn't that useful IMHO.

Ah, also I conducted a test between the 28-70 and the
28-105, and the latter proved to be sharper in all the
range.

My unit is in very good condition, and I am not sure
about its future since I am not using it with the Ds
and I don't see a full frame in the near future.
