Hard to stick a laptop in your pocket. Also my $300 Thinkpad only has a 30gb HD, and about 1/3 of that is taken up with software, no built in CD drive either. But then, you can edit your photos in Photoshop on it, and see them about 6x8 size, It takes the CF card from the camera directly; and I can check my email with it; not too bad for 4lbs.
