FWIW, Pentax expected DLSR sales volumes are dwarfed by even Sony.

I agree with the principle of don't build more than you hope to sell.  
That's common sense. OTOH, not having product available on the shelf when a 
customer wants it does not help sales or loyalty.

It's a fine line.
