Ahoy there!

Here are some of the boats that are parked within a mile of my house
today.

This is what I think of as a tankwa, which is the name for this type
of boat in Ethiopia where they are made by Lake Tana and Awassa and
used by the local people for transport and fishing. I think this one
(without the mast and sail) is based on the type used on Lake
Titicaca:

traditional Thames barge with (furled) red sails, giving it some
scale:
