Thanks Bruce. Yeah, the lighthouse was shot perched on a steep drop,
right on the cliff face, where 445 steps take you to the bottom (my lad
counted them on the way back up). Seadied on a rock, right into the sun
which is just out of frame a third the way in on the left. Assistant
flagged the lens, although she doesn't like being called that. Because
of the inaccessibility, there are no other vantage points unless lower,
but I wasn't happy with the angle. As for focal lengths, I had some
different lengths with me but once I see something in my head I tend not
to shoot it like that. I see an image in my mind, and then bung on the
right lens to achieve that on...I nearly said film...er, digitally. The
only thing I thought of was a close shot of the lighthouse but the light
was all wrong for that and balls to it.

As I reached the top of the cliff, this was the sight that greeted me,
and it impressed me the most. Everything else I saw was a 'co-star' and
so I made a pic of that initial impression. Everyone who commented that
it is not big enough is absolutely right - but to be honest looking at
these things on a computer monitor is a load of tosh anyway. The real
thing is the print. At A3 the lighthouse is pretty decent. If y'all
wanna pop round and have a look, I'll get the kettle on.
