Well, I just wanted to start off by saying that I'm back!

I used to always read the PDML to get information, help, etc. with my
technique and equipment... but sorta lost touch with photography as
a whole. I purchased a point-and-shoot for ease of traveling and it
did OK considering it's limited functionality. Time goes buy, I get
busier at work and I forget about some of the simple pleasures that
made me happy.

Then something happened last week... I was cleaning out my apartment
getting ready to move in with my fiance, and noticed all my Pentax
film equipment sitting there, alone. I started reminiscing about my
lenses, the good times I had going out looking for that one shot.

I thought it was a shame this equipment was sitting there doing
nothing and decided to sell it off. Then as I went through it all, I
couldn't get myself to part with my lenses. My 43mm Limited, my 24mm
2.0, etc. Then it dawned on me... I could sell off my older bodies
and use the money to purchase the K100D, and put those lenses back to
use. I also decided to do this before we tie the knot (hehehe),
since I wouldn't need my wife-to-be's approval. I mean, one of the
main reasons I didn't use the older bodies was the hassle with using
film, getting it developed, etc. compared to the instant
gratification of digital.

With that said, I was sooooo excited to try out the K100D, I bought
it. And what better time to try it out than right before I go to
Europe next week for my best friend's wedding.

I just wanted to say thank to everyone at the PDML! It's good to be
back, and see many of the familiar names still around!

Happy shooting!!!

Gabe
