Define "well" ;-). Even the best film-optimized Canon glass cannot take advantage of the full-frame sensors. In particular, edge performance on wide-angle lenses tends not to be very good. > Am I missing something? "L" has been Canon's designation for their "pro" lenses for a very long time indeed, at least since the late FD-mount era. Today's current-production L lenses are of course totally different from the ones made 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Canon lens designs are continually renewed and rarely is a lens design in production for more than a decade or so (and that was in the film era). My 17-40mm f/4L gives great performance on my 20D (APS-C sized sensor) but obviously it would not do as well on a 1Ds Mk II... Doug __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
