Presuming a personal affront by a large corporation is not a useful way of looking at things. Why did Pentax change from CF to SD? Because a) the card cage is smaller, taking less space in the body, b) the parts are less costly, c) it's the direction that the majority of the industry is going with respect to memory card format.
