Actually some did complain when floppy disks changed from 5 1/4 to 3 1/2. Some programs were supplied on copy protected 5 1/4 inch media, (mostly games I suppose), that were no longer available in the new format. Floppy disks were consumables however, with a limited lifetime. I expect that usable CF cards will be around long after there's nothing to read them with.
