It has shaped thinking on the subject and corporate actions since then. In short, it looked across a broad array of markets and companies (1,000's) and found there were two ways to make a good profit in an industry. Either you had to be the big dog - market share leader with a majority share (or maybe you #2) to make money or you had to be a niche player who survives by creating value and special customer features that the big dogs couldn't be bothered matching or squashing. Point is, it's OK to be a small market share survivor in the camera market if that is your objective. Stop beating Pentax up for it. Regards, Bob S.
