Hello, everybody.
I'm new on this list, I hope I sent the mail on the right address.

It seems that this thread created a big stir among pentax lovers, anyway, it's
very clear that Aaron made a point about a feature that is very important to
HIM. That does't mean that THE feature shares the same amount of expectation
from all the posting members of this list. Moreover, after reading all the
messages from the thread is quite obvious for me that each one of us has
different expectations from this camera. Some may group around noise reduction
or more mp etc. But generally, each has its own expectations.

IMHO, the only BIIG advantage of a 67 (and any MF and LF cameras) is given by
the combination between negative film dynamics and reduced grain (aka noise).
But that is not a feature, is a characteristic of the negative film. I was
thinking about square sensor, a negative exposure mode (I don't think if it's
possible), a rotating back, a dedicated mechanical MLU button etc. etc. One
interesting feature - for me at least - would be a double bayonet mount.

In the end, Pentax made - and still makes - wonderful cameras. But I believe
that is quite dangerous to raise one's expectations without having a sound
reason for that. And that reason should be shared by the majority. If K10D
promises a revolution - that's fine. If not... there will be at least a
dissapointment for some of us and a great marketing blow for a fine product
(I'm sure it will be fine). So probably the best thing to do is to wait and see
and hope that Pentax will provide accordingly. ;)

regards,

Sadly, this is as close or even closer than most guesses.

And no, that's not a hint.

I release that what I am about to impart to you involves a breach of
the temporal prime directive but there should be little impact on the
time lines aside from the suicide of a few C**** and N***n executives.

The anti shake switch also creates a warp field around the sensor.
within this the normal rules of physics do not apply. We will have
zero noise at any light level and the ability to shoot at any angle of
view from a standard lens.

I would reveal more but the nurse says I must take my medicine now.

Peter
