Which kind of leaves; output resolution and dynamic range. And a two sensitivity level sensor has already been done by someone (can't remember who) so that leaves output resolution. Is it using the movable sensor to obtain a higher (4x say - 2x linear) output resolution? But I'm pretty sure that was already suggested by someone.
