Yep, it is a bit soft in the focus department. Excuse (long winded)... 1) I was using my Coolpix "snapshot" camera, I find harder to focus properly, particularly in challenging light conditions, than my *istDL. 2) I haven't used that camera for ages and I have forgotten how to set it up properly. 3) The sunrise caught me by suprise and I only had a couple of minutes to get a shot. That sounds weird BUT here the most dramatic scenes are almost always just prior to sunrise. This was 15-20 minutes later when the colours have usually faded. I actually watched the sunrise, had turned and was walking away when I happened to glance over my shoulder and see what was going on. I hurriedly got a few shots before the sun went up and disappeared behind the clouds. It was the unusual conjunction of sun position, clouds and smoke haze that made the shot.
