I just compared the Addonics FireWire reader vs the Sandisk ImageMate 12-in-1 using the Transcend 150x SD 2G capacity card. I loaded the card with 1.9 G of RAW files and then initiated a full capacity download from card to computer through each reader (Mac OS X v10.4.7 on a PowerMac G5 with a fast 500G drive).
Results: The Addonics reader achieves [EMAIL PROTECTED] read speed average for a total transfer time of 7.9 minutes. The Sandisk reader achieves [EMAIL PROTECTED] read speed average for a total transfer time of 3.8 minutes. I haven't run the test with CF cards yet ... it could well be different, just don't have the time to test it right now.
