You are of course correct. It's not wrong to experiment. It's not  
wrong to manipulate images. If no one experimented with what is real  
and what is not, we wouldn't have Picasso or even Monet. That's not  
to say that your result is artful or even good. But it's not wrong  
just because it's a manipulation. You're biggest problem here remains  
the fact that you started with an ugly girl:-).
