Very true. This is one I made handheld from 6 vertical frames (*istD, FA50mm f1.4, ISO 200)

The WB is off but I preffer it like this. IMHO the full sized version is quite impressive for it's detail, considering I was holding the camera :-) & the sun was very close to setting. Where you run into problems handheld is when you have close in foreground objects. Then parallax error comes into play.
