There is still something special about the rendering from Pentax lenses. They don't exhibit the typical super-sharpness of the high-end telephotos from Canon and Nikon, but they're certainly sharp enough. One thing that puzzles me a bit, though, is the way the optimal focus point with Pentax lenses seem to be at the very back of the "almost in focus" range. That's illustrated quite well with your shot too, btw. The way the wall behind the jug rapidly falls into a soft blur, while there's more detail in front of the focus plane.
