Yep, the $1000/lb number is wrong (unless you are talking a Super Guppy or AN-224, which is where I expect my source got it, unfortunately they didn't divulge the math behiond the umber, and I took it on face value, mistakenly). It doesn't change the basic equations of air freight vs sea freight.
