Such a device would likely have to be much more expensive and they would require different, more expensive high speed interfaces to the camera data bus to achieve faster speeds. (The bus that connects RAM speed components inside the computer or camera is much faster than the bus that connects said components to a secondary storage device.) Basically, you're not going to make a self-powered mediacard with high speed RAM that achieves significantly faster transfer speeds without building a complete IO system optimized to that performance requirement.
