I have no knowledge of Pentax's internal accounting statements.
I am speculating based on public interview with the Pentax CEO last year.
That would be about the right time frame for unfolding this Samsung stuff now.

Also, I imagine the market here in the US is quite different from
Canada.  Independant camera shops are mostly gone.  The market is
controlled by a small group of 10-15 buyers for the major chains -
Wal-Mart, Target, K-mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Comp USA, Office
Depot, Office Max, Staples, Ritz/Wolf Camera,...  What Pentax sells to
these buyers is what will appear on display in the US.  I haven't seen
a Pentax Optio in these stores for over a year, maybe 18 months.
