I came across a burst fire hydrant a couple of hours ago - a car ran into it and the driver sped off before I got there - and I took a bunch of pics of the scene. A little while ago I e-mailed four pics to the local fish wrap. Of course, I don't know if they'll be used - you can never tell - especially as one person I spoke to said she thought they had a photog there, but the other person, at the news desk, was very interested. We'll see.
Of the ones I took, this is the one I thought might be the most interesting to the newspaper. Having a digital camera is great!
