Jack,

What holds my interest the most is the actual tree trunks and their
reflections.  This is where the patterns are.  What bothers me is the
busyness of the leaves (foliage).  That causes the picture to become
distracting, taking the focus away from the subject.  Perhaps an even
higher contrast to make it be a little more stark...

Or even shooting later in the year when some/most of the foliage has
dropped.
