That's the point. If those pixels are already barely visible at such a close distance, 6 mpix is clearly no limitation for "normal" viewing distances, where they go below human eye resolution capabilities... One may want to print BIG enlargements though, and expect the viewers to come close and still find detail. Some pictures clearly work like this, when you think "hey, something's happening, here", and come and see closer.
