Jens,
The last and only Irish in my family were my great-great grandparents.
They moved to a mining community in Illinois probably in the 1870's or '80's.
Their children married English miners in the area.
Only the Irish name remains, but I celebrate on St.Patrick's day,
have been known to 'tip a few', and share a forehead with the rest of the clan.
