Not necessarily, you'll just have to relearn the joys of stop down 
metering.  Setting the cameras mode to M and either pressing the AE-L 
button or holding the DOF lever in, stops down the lens and takes a 
meter reading.  The former does it "semi-instantaneously " and sets the 
shutter speed for you, the latter gives continuous readings but you'll 
have to set the correct f-stop using he aperture ring or shutter speed 
using the rear wheel.  The first method is almost painless.
