iView MediaPro is required if you're working with RAW capture files. There's a complete list of differences between iView Media and MediaPro available at
http://www.iview-multimedia.com/products/compare.php I use iView MediaPro quite a lot, it's an excellent image catalog/ archive manager. I use it to manage many thousands of image files.
