Keith, there is also a CS version, since I am still on CS. You can find older 
book versions by third party sellers on Amazon. I have to admit though, that 
I personally, never got very far with this book. Time limits, but it is also a 
heavy read.

Not sure if there is a RAW book for dummies, but I think a book I have 
mentioned before, Real World Digital Photography by Duggan and Eismann is 
pretty 
darn good. It's sort of digital for dummies although it goes into enough detail 
for those who want it. I haven't finished it either, but it has a good 
discussion of sensors and things like that. Also covers some basic PS. 

It made a lot of things clearer to me, just the parts I've managed to read so 
far.
