Would you balk at 35mm for candids, or just if the photographer were

I didn't realize that larger sensors yielded better AF performance -- is
that really true? I know, I'm not in the "typical pro" segment, but I
still very rarely see pros using AF. Actually, I saw one of the
newspaper guys ragging on a new guy (from the same paper) who was at the
game to shoot it as practice for having one hand on the shutter and the
other on the monopod -- kept asking him how he was focusing. Was kind
of funny, really -- the new guy kept complaining that he had missed this
shot and that shot and talked about how lousy the AF was on the camera
they had signed out to him (which was the same EOS 1 that all the other
guys from the same paper use).
