As you might remember ;-) I asked the list about cropping on computer some
time ago. Now, with the new killer combo Tamron 300/2,8 I did a little
experiment. 
This first is cropped from horizontal to vertical, a normal cropping for a
bird shot, I'd say.

At that page, below the picture you will find a thumb leading to a new
vertical crop. This is about 1/8 of the original file. It's not suitable for
larger displays or a print, but at screen it looks pretty ok, don't you
think?

My point is. The Tamron makes much better results than my Tokina AT-X
150-500/5,6 zoom. So much better that it allows more cropping. This isn't
mind blowing, but it does make me think:
Shit in, shit out. Good stuff in, good stuff out. 
In the end I am pleased with the Tamron, despite the unpredictable bokeh.
