Agreed. It's fairly trivial to the economy overall, but really hurts those on low margins. My mother, who's on disability and lives in a small northern city, is being really hurt by gas price increases (the soon-to-occur 12.5% hydro rate hike here in Ontario is going to be even worse)

The price here has risen almost $1.00/gallon in just a short time.  That
really hurts a lot of people, even though the cost may be relatively
cheaper than in the 70's when adjusted for inflation.  The incomes for many
of those on fixed incomes hasn't kept up with inflation, BTW.
