I have been using the FA50/1.7 for that with as much success as I am going to get. It has a flat field of view, which is apparent (to me) wide open as an improvement to the A50/1.4. Not that I have systematically tested them, I would not.

Neither would I, but I'll take a close look at the results of both the A lenses, to see which I prefer in the end. It might turn out to be a case of varying mileage :o)

Let me know, I am casually interested.

Film, yes. I don't think I've ever seen a FA prime in real life :o) How is the manual focussing feel? Comparable to the FA-zooms, or better?

I can only speak about the FA50/1.7. I have a lot of K-M-A lenses but I prefer this one because it is damped but not very, while it has a short, fast throw. I some times focus it with the index finger. I have never tried to MF any of my AF zooms; I find the handling of two different parameters (focus vs FL) too hard to master (they are all two-touch). I am OK with the M75-150/4 which is one-touch, while the M80-200/4.5 and the A70-210/4 I got rid of very quickly as I found them too heavy and long for the combination of handling.

I have the K3.5s, but don't use them as much as I ought to :-(

Shame on you ;-)

I am having a bad period at the moment when it comes to photography, I rarely shoot. My hands are too full with the two kids and the house is too unattractive to shoot anymore... My son will have serious questions to ask when he is older and sees his sister was apparently more popular to photograph :-( I should at least liberate some bodies and lenses, it's a shame to keep them unused.
