For wedding work, the general technique is called dragging the shutter - basically you try to let there be as much ambient light as possible to reduce the dark backgrounds. So shooting at around 400 ISO and then shooting at about 1/15-1/60 at around f/5.6 with TTL flash gives a much more natural look.
