Actually, I did get an old Takkie from somewhere and bunged an EOS/M42 on it but that's not the same thing. I wanted a fast 50 mil for a D60 I had back then, for portraiture. It worked fine. Now with a 1.3 crop on the 1D2, I have little use for the 50, which actually is pluming like a parrot and needs a good clean. I keep meaning to do something about it.
