You're welcome. I was surprised at how fast the new G5 is able to process 100 files. I'm now itching for the next show ... :-)
That said, I bet my iMac G4 20" was about as fast as your PowerMac G4 DP 867Mhz. I processed many hundreds of RAW files with the iMac, but throwing 800 files a day at it would likely be more than I was comfortable with. I moved to the G5 because the iMac was simply not up to pounding 300-400 files fast enough for me to feel productive. Now I know the G5 can do what I want.
Yeah, working the "what purchases can I fit in the budget and give me the most advantage for my money" equation can be difficult. I've converted other unused assets to afford the new gear, and happily business has been reasonably good in the past couple of months.
