I shoot with Nickel, and can't say I have the same experience. A couple of weeks ago I had a "session" 4C below zero. Shot 40-50 frames, no problem. But I wouldn't expect more than 100 shots from one set of batteries.
Above zero I would expect more out of one battery set. My _guess_ is that your batteries are getting old.
