They were normal batteries (not alkaline). I tried switching to NiMH (2300 MAh). Same result - after a few shots, they died. It was a little windy too.I tried warming the camera with my hand, which gave an extra shot every two-three minutes. I think it's rather annoying that it's so difficult to photograph below 5-10 degrees Celsius. That is perhaps 1/5-1/4 of the year where I live. Hockey games would be big problem with this technology.
