No it isn't. The 50-135 is a totally different lens. Pentax just changed
the priorities of what to manufacture when. Rumor has it that FA*
replacement is being redesigned for increased AF performance (whatever
that means).

The 50-135 is a direct replacement for an 80-200 f2.8 once you account
for the digital crop factor.
