I've been this route before... aargh.

I have an image that looks the way I wish in Photoshop. When I save it as a .jpg and view it in a browser, the colors are slightly washed out. Specifically. it looks less red. I see this when I open the .jpg as a file in the browser and when I view a photo.net page of it.

The color space of the image is sRGB and I'm not monkeying with it in any way. The .jpg version looks correct when I open it in PS/CS2 and matches the .PSD version. It's only when I open the .jpg in a browser that it appears different.

Could it be a function of the background area on the screen being gray in CS2 whereas it's white in the browser? Well, I just set the background color in the browser to gray and it did not appear to make a difference.

I'm starting to wonder whether there is a color difference or it's an optical illusion. Maybe I'm just melting down earlier than usual on a Friday afternoon.

Thanks for any help.

Tom C.
