Is that the one @ the top of Lake Superior?
If so, what do westerners fear about it?
Inquiring minds want to know.
One of the coming of age rituals used to be hitch hiking "down east".
Getting dropped off in Wawa was like ending up in purgatory.
It could take forever to get a ride out of town.
Legend has it that a kid from Calgary got dropped off in Wawa and wasn't
able to hitch a ride out.
He ended up out of money, and started working at a local diner.
One thing led to another and he started dating one of the waitresses, ended
up marrying her and to this day, lives in Wawa.
