No this model does not have a line input, I presume in an attempt to keep it
small. Samsung has a digital recorder that works as you describe and comes
with the bullet camera. IIRC it used MPEG-4 as opposed to MPEG-2 however.

Does it have line inputs for recording from an
external source? If so, stick the camcorder in a
backpack or fanny pack, then ziptie one of the little
"bullet cameras" on the helmet. Much smaller and less
"king dork" looking.
