Hi Paul, I like this shot, even though it's somewhat of an awkward pose. It looks very real and homey, if you know what I mean.
The pic looks a bit flat here. Try duplicating the layer, set the duped layer to luminosity, use USM set amount to 15%, radius to 250, and threshold to 0, and see if the slight boost in contrast looks a little better to you.
