Hi!

Colour management is fun.

You must understand it then :-)

The little switch got thrown today.

Care to elaborate, mr Robb?

I discovered that the built in profiles that Epson provides work pretty darned well. I discovered that if the printer colour management is on, colour management in Photoshop should be off. I discovered that one can turn colour management off on the printer, load the appropriate paper profile into the printer and lo and behold, the colour charts suddenly start to look the way they should. I discovered that colour management in Photoshop is way easier to attend to than fiddling the printer driver to make the colour right. I suspect I didn't know this before now because I've never had a printer that actually came with a data base of colour profiles, so I was always writing my own.

I also made a few 16x24 inch prints using a single istD exposure as the source, and they look really good.

My 4800 came with a flaw, the paper tray isn't quite right. Epson is sending another one out to me next week, so I am trying to drain the tanks in this one.......
